Opening Keynote – How Discovery Tour by Assassin’s Creed Takes Education to the Next Level

 Day 1 // 9:30am – 10:30am // Main Auditorium

The benefits of video games are well documented for play and entertainment – but can the interactivity and immersion provided by games help in an educational setting? In February 2018, Ubisoft introduced The Discovery Tour by Assassin’s Creed: Ancient Egypt. This educational tool allows visitors to roam and explore the entire world of Egypt that was recreated in Assassin’s Creed Origins (released in October 2017). From Alexandria to Memphis, from the Nile Delta to the Sand Sea, from The Giza plateau to the Faiyum Oasis, visitors are immersed like never before in Ancient Egypt. Renowned Historian Maxime Durand will share the experience of bringing Discovery Tour by Assassin’s Creed to classrooms and museums around the world, and the insights gained from educators and students along the way.

Laugh, cry and applaud during this sometimes funny and other times poignant talk while learning from the school of hard knocks from a career that has spanned 30 years and multiple industries.
